Yes, I do offer Spoonbill/Paddlefish snagging trips typically from as early as February thru mid/late April while they are making their runs up the Grand River between Ft. Gibson and Lake Hudson. I provide the boat and all equipment needed for snagging these prehistoric creatures, and I actively promote CPR (Catch Photo Release) of this magnificent creature!! Should you decide to keep a Spoonbill, I will provide tags, knives & bags for YOU to clean your fish and transport it home! I’m sorry, but this is the one species I myself do not clean for you!! Mondays and Fridays are Catch & Release only statewide, so if your desire is to take one home you will be unable to do so on these 2 days of the week!
My rates are $300 for up to (max) four people for six hours of snagging fun on the river! There are several snagging techniques that we can and will utilize to get you hooked into a Paddlefish/Spoonbill, all of which will require you only to “Hang On & Have Fun”!!!
Experiencing the hook up of a Spoonbill/Paddlefish is akin to tying onto a freight train going the opposite direction and is sure to get your attention and adrenaline flowing!
A Spoonbill/Paddlefish permit IS REQUIRED on your person while snagging, but it’s FREE so be sure to have yours with you when we hit the water for them. Click on the following link which will provide you with all the information, permits etc available for you. http://www.wildlifedepartment.com/fishing/paddlefish.htm
