Skiatook 6/16/14

As much as I love reporting the really good trips with lots of fish pics, it’s only the right thing to do to report on those trips where we don’t do so well either!

I did have the pleasure of hosting Aaron Capps, his twin sons Cade & Cole and their cousin Carson for a day of Hybrid Striper fishing on Skiatook Lake this past Monday! While the weather itself was pleasant, the winds were downright atrocious, blowing upwards of 30+ mph making for somewhat difficult boat positioning and seemingly scattering the Hybrids.

We never found the fish stacked up and schooled up in bunches, but rather scattered out in little pods and moving around quite a bit! Our morning started off on a “fair” note and we boated several decent Hybrids, but our offerings of fresh lively shad went mostly un-noticed or ignored for much of the day!!10450756_680625645343122_5873458488361761105_n

A bonus hungry and hard fighting “Flatty” though made for some exciting and memorable moments as it battled from the depths and certainly helped towards sending some prime eating fish home from the trip!10473177_680625662009787_1670329453222960391_n

Thank You Aaron, Cole, Cade and Carson for a memorable day on the water with me! I truly enjoyed having you aboard and you are more than welcome back anytime!!
