Skiatook 4/26/2014

Wheww,,,,,,,, the wind was howling out of the south all day and certainly “cooler” than the weathermen predicted for the morning, but despite the conditions spent a fruitful day plying the waters of Skiatook for the hard fighting Hybrid-Stripers!

Had Eddie, Levi & Kevin (L-R)20140426_132613_resized in the boat as part of a group outing involving three boats! My crew was a great group of guys and they all had fun fishing (and catching) several Hybrids, missing a few and just enjoying the day we were given.

Couldn’t get a bite going in the area where the fish have been feeding the past couple of weeks so we took a long boat ride to a shallow water area that has produced well for me for many years and sure’nuff, there were some willing biters there for the catching.20140426_132624_resized After lowering the Power-Pole to keep us in position we started baiting lines and presenting the Hybrids some fresh lively Shad to munch on, and munch they did! While we only boated 10 fish total, we likely missed at least double that amount for various reasons, but the fish were there for sure.20140426_132620_resized

With only a little over an hour left to fish, we moved back up lake and met up with one of the other boats from the group and finished up the day there bantering (and fishing) with the other anglers. Boated one small blue cat there, missed a bite or two and brought up one good sized Sand Bass to finish out our day.20140426_132631_resized

Thank you guys (Kevin, Eddie & Levi) for a great day in the boat! Y’all are welcome back ANYTIME!! Thank you also to Dan Gable who set the trip up for his employees! Appreciate you a bunch!!

Psssst,,, it’s only gonna get better!
