Fun, fun and more fun with Joe Skully and his 11 year old son Nic on Keystone Lake!
Once again twas quite breezy with some pretty hefty winds coming in out of the south so we headed to an area of the lake that would afford a little protection from the bigger swells and still be in good fishable waters! Was a good call as I couldn’t get a second rod baited before we had fish on the first rod and had a good flurry of action for the first hour of the trip!
Young Nic was first to pull fish into the net, but his dad wasn’t but moments behind!
While the action was not hot and heavy the entire trip, fish were on the move and we’d have spells of inactivity only to be interrupted by some fast and furious activity where multiple rods were going down! All in all a great day on the water with young Nic getting introduced to catching his first Striper ever, his first Hybrid Striper ever and catching a decent Blue Cat along with several hefty Keystone Sandbass!
All told, we boated their legal limit of over 20” Stripers (4), only one Striper under 20” and CPR’d over a dozen more with plenty of smiles and fun times shared between father & son!! Thank you Joe and Nic! I really enjoyed having you in the boat today and being part of something special!!
