Keystone Lake 6/21/14

Although Saturday’s trip on Keystone was not a “Stellar” day of rod bending, fast action, fish catching frenzy, it was certainly a fun filled day ending in an honest to goodness hard fighting rod bending fight with a big fish that had everyone in the boat (including me) excited!!!

Hosted Darren Weldon, his daughter Anyston, Luke Garcia, Vince Carter and Jarred Fry on a fun filled day of fishing Lake Keystone! Our primary target of course were some more of the hard fighting Stripers10483926_680647102007643_5767711060301694013_n I’d encountered on my trip to Keystone on Thursday of last week! They were a really fun group to have in the boat and we had a beautiful day to be out. Lots and lots of weekend boat traffic and other fishermen to contend with, but it was an ideal day to be out fishing!

Long story short, we did NOT load the boat, but we did manage to latch onto a few of Keystone Stripers, a few keeper size Blues and a surprise BIG fish catch at the end of the trip! Young Anyston took top honor of BIG FISH of the day, a it was a hoot to watch her do battle with it!10441150_680647155340971_5023789065564627247_n Okay, it was a Spoonbill which somehow managed to swim along and snag itself on one of the lines we had setting at 40 feet, sitting over 60 feet of water. 10259772_680647228674297_9080764197192080213_nI’d marked several big arches on the Lowrance in that area so we gave it a try for a bit before going in! Turned out some of the arches were Stripers, along with a Blue cat or two, and then the Spoonie!!14801_680647202007633_1192390043837181696_n

All in all a good day, loads of fun with a great group, and memories to last a lifetime! Thank You Darren, Anyston, Luke, Vince & Jarred! I really had a great time with y’all in the boat and look forward to having y’all out again in the future!!
