Skiatook Guide Trip 5-23-10
Another Great day of Lake Skiatook, Sunday, May 23
Had the pleasure of fishing today with Kris Gosney and two of her Grandsons, Kale ( age 6) & Nolton (age 3, almost 4) on beautiful Lake Skiatook! Today's fishing trip was a three hour (half day) trip which started at 1:00 PM. The wind was nothing short of howling out of the South at every bit of the estimated 25 mph which made the lake very rough and choppy. That didn't stop the Hybrids (Wipers) from putting on the feed bag though, after we found the ones that wanted to eat of course! We found one school of fish to start with that wanted nothing to do with what we were offering so after a short vigil of chumming and dropping frisky live shad in front of them to no avail, we made a short move and immedietly found a shool of cooperative feeding fish! Kale, having both arms in casts from a fall he'd taken, did a bang up job of cranking in fish after fish with a little help and assistance from either myself or his Grandmother helping to hold the rod! Little Nolton had a great time of catching fish as well, and he also needed assistance with some rod holding but boy could he crank'em in! Several times throughout the trip we had doubles on and once had triples on which really made for some interesting fun for all involved! It was surely a great day to be on the water catching those feisty Hybrids (Wipers) despite the wind! June is going to be a great month to be out catching some of these great fighting fish, so be sure and get a trip booked now for some great fish catching fun!
