Fished today with Matt Harrell and three of his good friends & co-workers ( Leland, Brian & Quint) from Moore, OK. The trip today was a birthday present from his wife and though it could not have been much more perfect "weather" wise, it certainly could have been better fishing wise! We were able to coax a few hybrids into munching of the many fresh lively shad we offered them, but the bite has certainly slowed down on Skiatook at present! Pictured above is Leland with his first ever Hybrid, the smile says it all!

My thoughts in regards to the slowing bite on Skiatook at present is that it is largely affected by the very unstable weather patterns we have been experiencing of late and can only improve once we get back into "normal" Oklahoma weather. The bite is still good on Sooner Lake though, and a recent trip to Birch also produced some good fish as well, so there are still other options for you in regards to some good fish catching trips in the days ahead!
