Skiatook 6-27-10

I'd have to rate today as an OK, pretty fair day on Skiatook. While we never had any continuous slam bam action, we did so-so fair in comparison to others on the lake at the same time! Fished with four gentlemen and a younger son of Anthony from the Stillwater area and had a very enjoyable day on the water. Caught fish close to Skiatook Point in 40 fow, Tall Chief in 30 fow and Dads Creek in 35-40 fow! All our fish came on downlines, though hindsight being 20/20 and all, shoulda tried a couple of other tried and true methods to catch them (next time)!! Every fish we caught were "overs" and a couple of sandies, but no "unders" to complete the day! Live bait was the ticket (for us), and the smaller the bait, the better it worked seemingly!
