Timing is “Everything”!
What a day on Skiatook Lake! Had the extreme pleasure of hosting Robert, Gabe & Robbie Feather along with Brad & Jeremy on a short 3 hour trip! The trip was a birthday gift to Robert given to him by Robbie & his siblings! We were to start at 1:00 PM but held off until 3:00 PM to start, primarily due to the weather (rain), and starting at 3:00 we avoided the rain completely until we were well off the water!
Started off in an area known to have been holding fish earlier in the day and only managed 3-4 fish over about an hour period of time. That just wasn’t setting well with me (not catching loads of fish) so we went on a hunt, looking in several places. Finally, with only about 45 minutes left of our allotted 3 hour fishing time, I saw on the locator what looked to be like a big glob of spaghetti on the locator screen and I knew everyone aboard was about to get real happy, real fast!
Put six (6) baited lines down to the spaghetti glob and in moments, every rod tip was bowed down under the strain of a hungry Hybrid and it was a full time circus as fish after fish came across the gunwales of the ole Predator. On more than one occasion we didn’t have a bait in the water because we were busy taking fish off the hooks of every rod. It was a fun fun fun great time with a great group of fishermen! Pretty sure I heard young Gabe (11) say something like it was the best fishing time ever for him so far!! Putting smiles and grins on faces is one of my favorite things to do and I’m pretty sure I was able to get that feat accomplished yesterday!!
Thank You Robert, Gabe, Robbie, Brad & Jeremy!! Y’all were a great bunch and I look forward to the opportunity of having you out again for some more fish catching fun!!
Happy Birthday Robert!!
