A “GREAT” day on the water over on Chouteau Bend today with Shawna McNamera and daughter Callie of Wichita, KS on a Spring Break mom & daughter getaway!!
First couple of fish we boated, mom couldn’t get a line wet before Callie would have a fish on, just the way we like it! Boated a total of 6, mostly 20-30 lb males, with a couple good female spoonbills in the 50 + lb range! Had several UFO’s (unidentified fish ON) but alas they came un-buttoned after a brief struggle!
Neither Shawna or Callie were strangers to snagging spoonbill, but today was Callie’s first time to actually hook up the fish from the get-go and boat the fish. We used a troll snagging technique which isn’t near as hard on you as cast/jerk/snagging, all ya gotta do is hang on and shout out when your hooked up!
All in all a great day on the water, and we were off the water before the rain hit! Thank you both, Shawna & Callie for choosing Hawker’s Guide Service today!! Y’all were great to have in the boat and are welcome back “anytime”!!
