Kids Fishing Derby, June 6th on Sahoma Lake, Sapulpa, OK
Just getting the word out early as well as looking for assistance from fellow sportspeople!!
I know several of you out there follow Hawker’s Guide Service here and on FB and would appreciate any help you could provide if you can!! This will be the 4th annual Kids Fishing Derby held at Sahoma Lake, and in years past there have been an average of 60-80 kids (ages 16 and younger) attend! Kids fish from the bank on both Sahoma and nearby Pretty Water lakes, and while they can receive “some” assistance from attending parents etc, it’s up to them to catch the fish. Prizes are awarded for several categories, but bottom line is that every kid that attends will leave with a prize, and here’s where you can help!!
At the event, there is a tent set up that contains all the prizes for the kiddos, and each child is given the opportunity to enter the tent (without parent) and pick a prize themselves, without assistance from attending parent or guardian!! Prizes range from trinket stuff like flashlight pens, to rod/reel combos, tackle paks, hats, T-Shirts, etc etc etc, all donated items!!
If you happen to be affiliated with or sponsored by a tackle mfg, clothing sponsor, etc, any and all donations would be greatly appreciated as the city of Sapulpa does little to help, and it’s all about the kids!! If your not affiliated with a mfg etc, but would like to help, a monetary donation could and would be greatly appreciated as well, and will be pooled with all monies collected to purchase prizes utilizing an opportunity to make said purchases at below wholesale pricing!
