A FRENZY of Fishing & Catching
WOW, what a day on the water Saturday afternoon! Had Samuel from El Paso, his two little boys ( 4 & 8 ), Miguel & his daughter (10) and one other friend for a combo Sandbass/Spoonbill trip at the Bend!
Got them hooked up on a 50 lb Spoonbill right off the bat & the 8 yr old had his hands full from the git-go! Fighting the Spoonbill was a struggle for him but he never backed down and with a little coaching and a tad of help, we boated his biggest fish ever to the cheers from all aboard!! After landing their first Spoonbill and getting pics, and trying for another for a bit with no success, we made the decision to move on up river and fish for Sand Bass so everyone could get in on some fish catching action!
Long story short, it got busy busy busy baiting hooks, taking fish off the hook and keeping lines untangled for the remainder of the trip!! Ended up cleaning 2 gallons of boneless fillets for them to take home and memories for a lifetime. Sorry I don’t have pics of the Sandbass FRENZY action but I just got too busy netting fish, taking out hooks and re-baiting to squeeze in getting pics!
A truly fun time was had by all (including yours truly) and being able to assist Miguel & his daughter with catching loads of fish on their first fishing trip ever was very special for me!!

The hot fish catching action at Chouteau Bend is on fire right now, but won’t last much longer! Don’t wait till its over to get in on the action, plus there is the added bonus of some tasty fillets to take home to share with family and friends!!
