Now, fishing IS supposed to be fun, , , , , , , , right? Well, yesterdays trip to Chouteau Bend was over the top fun with Jason and Luke aboard along with Luke’s two youngsters! Everyone aboard had a ball (self included)
as we ventured out in our quest on a Spoonbill snagging adventure
and loads of laughter and smiles erupted throughout the day as it kept getting better and
better!
Long story short, the weather was perfect, conditions on the river were just right and there were plenty of Spoonbill in the areas we fished to provide a very fun day for everyone in the boat! Luke and his children had never been snagging before so it was all new to them, but they took it all in stride, adapted quickly and had a ball.
Jason has a couple years experience behind him, but I threw in a change in technique for him to utilize and made yet
another convert to the different ways to snag! We boated 17 fat healthy Spoonies up to 50 + pounds and even caught (and released) a tagged Spoonbill! Had doubles a couple of times with nary a boring moment
throughout the day and a couple of really memorable moments when we got to witness some tail walking Spoonbill we had hooked up! Pure “D” fun all the way around!!
Couldn’t have asked for better folks to have in the boat, and certainly couldn’t have asked for a better day of fish catching, rod bending, line stretching, drag screaming fun for everyone aboard! Thank You guys, I had every bit as much fun as y’all did, guaranteed!
Coming up, I’ll be posting some reports by the weekend for some on the water fun on Skiatook Lake chasing some hard fighting Hybrid Stripers! It’s that time again and they (Hybrids) should be providing loads of rod bending fun over the course of the next several months!
Don’t be wishin,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, let’s go fishin!!!
